The Canal planting was the second phase for the Bulbs for Bucks program known as; Color on the Canal; with Daffodil Bulbs being planted at key locations from Bristol to Riegelsville, Bucks County. The first phase Bulbs along the Bypass was completed in the fall of 2010, when 30,000 Daffodil Bulbs were planted along the Rt. 611 Bypass. The final goal is to plant 1 million Daffodil Bulbs in Bucks County! Chuck Gale stated “I like the idea of planting daffodils because the bulbs multiply each year, and the project is long-lasting for future generations to enjoy what we are doing now! To my knowledge, this is the largest bulb planting project in the state of Pennsylvania.” Peter Fernandez, Carter van Dyke & Associates and Bucks Beautiful President states, “Our hope is to make Bucks County a destination point to view the bulbs and possibly create a Bulb Festival Weekend.” Bucks Beautiful is seeking donations from the public to help realize this final goal.
