The garden competition program supports Bucks Beautiful by inviting
individuals of all ages, schools, community organizations, businesses
and landscape professionals who install gardens to showcase their
talents. A wide variety of garden categories may be entered in
three
seasonal competitions ñ spring, summer and fall. All gardens
are judged by a group of experts, with awards presented at an annual
ceremony each October.
The Bucks Beautiful Garden Grant program encourages individuals, non-profit
organizations, schools and garden clubs to host community gardens
on view to the public. The goal is to beautify the county with annuals
and perennials that continue to show throughout the growing season.
Typical garden locations are roadside patches, public streets or town
squares. The grant award is a 50/50 cash match up to a maximum of
$2,000 per host each year. The grant may only be used for the purchase
of annuals, perennials, flowering ornamentals and mulch; in-kind services
or labor do not qualify.

This two-day event is held annually in March at Delaware Valley College.
Its purpose is to assist people in all aspects of gardening with the
aim of developing gardens that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Spectacular garden displays created by professional garden designers
are showcased. Exhibitors feature the latest garden techniques, products
and services to assist gardeners of all levels. There are informative
seminars covering a wide range of topics to inspire and educate the
beginner to the well-seasoned gardener.
The Bucks Beautiful Kitchen & Garden Tour is a one-day event,
which is a highlight of the spring season. Held on a Sunday in June,
the tour offers a delightful afternoon, discovering the hidden jewels
tucked away on the streets of Doylestown and the unique personal
connection
between the kitchens and gardens of some of the town's most beautiful
homes.
Bucks Beautiful is committed to education. The Bucks Beautiful Scholarship
programs are available to high school seniors residing in Bucks County
and Delaware Valley College students. Each scholarship awards $2,000
in the study of ornamental horticulture landscape contracting or landscape
design.
